The packet number 1 is the water purifier, it goes first after you have poured distilled water on the aquarium. Packet number 2 is the live eggs, you pour that after 24 to 30 hours of putting in the first packet. The water needs to stabilize for these number of hours so that the seamonkeys will be able to survive and live well. The third packet is food for the seamonkeys. You don't put it in until after 5 days of putting in packet number two though. The live eggs are packed with nutrients that the Seamonkeys can live by for about 5 days. After this, it would be time to feed them.

"This is a great product if you're trying to figure out whether your child is ready for a small caged or tank pet. The sea monkeys require very little care, but you have to be somewhat consistent (feeding when the tank is clear, about once a week, and watching the water level). If your child is okay with that over a period of time, he or she may be ready for an easy aquarium, or even a hamster. If your child is not ready, the sea monkeys don't require so much care that they'll unduly burden the parents to whom their care falls. You won't be stuck walking them. "
